Needing help with personal care is one of the most sensitive changes a person can face. Bathing, dressing and getting to the bathroom are private routines, and accepting help with them can feel like losing a piece of independence.

At Noble Senior Care, we approach personal care with patience, discretion and respect. Our caregivers work at your loved one’s pace, explain what they are doing, and encourage them to do as much as they comfortably can for themselves. The goal is simple: help them feel like themselves — clean, dressed, comfortable and safe.

Available across Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Trussville, Pelham, Helena, Chelsea and Alabaster. See all areas.

Who personal care is for

Personal care assistance is a good fit for older adults who want to keep living at home but are finding certain daily activities harder or less safe. It is often a good fit after a hospital stay or rehab, when strength and balance are still returning, for seniors living with arthritis, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery or other conditions that affect mobility, and for families who have been providing hands-on care themselves and need a trained, reliable person to share it.

How we provide personal care

Dignity first

Privacy, choice and respect guide every visit. Your loved one decides how they like things done.

Safety built in

Caregivers watch for fall risks and use safe techniques for transfers, bathing and walking.

Consistency

We aim to keep the same caregivers with each client, so trust and familiarity can grow.

I was nervous about having someone come into Mom’s home at first. You hear all sorts of things and you just want to make sure your parent is in good hands. It’s been a relief having some help, honestly.

Is personal care the same as medical home health care?

No. Noble Senior Care provides non-medical in-home care. Our caregivers help with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing and mobility. We do not provide skilled nursing or medical treatment, but we are happy to work alongside your loved one’s doctors and any home health providers.

How long are personal care visits?

Visits are scheduled around your loved one’s needs. Some clients need a short morning visit to get up, bathed and dressed; others benefit from longer shifts, overnight help, or 24-hour and live-in care by arrangement.

What if my parent is embarrassed about accepting help?

That is very common. We take time to get to know your loved one, start with the tasks they are most comfortable with, and always protect their privacy. Many clients relax once they get to know their caregiver.

Can personal care be combined with other services?

Yes. Most families combine personal care with companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders or light housekeeping in the same visit.
